I enjoyed daily yoga, and we also joined the tea ceremony, ice bath and sound therapy. I don’t think we ever waited more than about 1 minute for a response to a WhatsApp. Our concierge assistants (Christian and Jorge) were extremely responsive and helped us book restaurants and an excursion.

As an example, one morning I had a fruit plate, bread basket, shakshuka, cafe latte, and grapefruit juice! All delicious and included in the price. I thought breakfast might be a bit stingy based on previous reviews, but it was very hearty and service was friendly. On that note, our stay had breakfast included. One day we need need to finish breakfast by 8 to go on an excursion and service at the restaurant was quick enough to turn us around in half an hour. However we usually waited until after our morning activities to have a leisurely breakfast. Breakfast at Macondo starts at 7:30 and room service had a slightly odd black spot between about 7 and 7:30am when it closed, which could be slightly inconvenient if you want to eat before 8am yoga. No coffee machine in our room, but we were able to order pots of coffee in the morning before heading out for yoga and don’t appear to have been charged for this. The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated (and comfortable). We stayed in a Tierra Suite and loved it: Room 201 had a shady plunge pool, perfect for cooling down (Tulum is hot in May!) It felt very private, although just off a path to the beach there was loads of foliage so it was quiet and felt secluded. Very happy to report that we didn’t recognise the criticisms made in those reviews: perhaps these were teething problems getting back up to speed after pandemic disruption. My husband and I booked to stay at Nömade after some hesitation having clocked a few recent critical trip advisor reviews. Tulum has become too commercial and expensive for me but if I was to return I’m not sure about staying here again.…

The style and design of the hotel plus the gardens end up trumping over the negatives. Nomade there is some small improvements needed but overall a lovely relaxing experience. This should be included with the breakfast. I found this too much and a really negative experience. Breakfast was included but then after breakfast you have to sign and pay a service fee. I really enjoy an outdoor bathroom but not standing in stones at the basin and they need some hooks to dry wet clothes and towels. However the mattress was very comfortable. I’m always confused when staying in hot climates that the only options a hotel gives are a winter doona or a sheet. For the price we pay I would expect a fridge in the room. The lightning is just 3 low lamps and they do not give enough light. Dark at night too, even with the lights on I struggled to see what I’m looking for in my luggage. I mean EVERYTHING! It was so dark even in the middle of the day. I stayed in the tents and you can hear everything from your neighbours. The main reason I choose this hotel was for the daily schedule of wellness activities and I really enjoyed most of them especially the yoga in the morning. I love the relaxing music playing through the jungle as you walk and the copal burning. The Gardens are stunning and are the highlight of the hotel for me. If you are on the fence, book this place. It also has the nicest beachfront of any of the places we visited in Tulum. The room is well air conditioned, everything you need is provided.

We just messaged her and she made it happen! She even booked a massage for me at Yaan healing center which I recommend! 4. Our concierge Fernanda was amazing and booked everything for us. These little details are on the level of my experience at 5 star hotels. When we checked out early to catch a flight, they made us to go boxed lunches. The details! We arrived to a delicious dessert for my husband who was celebrating a birthday, welcome drinks and a birthday art piece made out of rice. I have done several before but this felt more connected and intimate and was truly special. There are activities that are thoughtful & focused on wellness. At about 1/2 the cost of Azulik, it was more beautiful, had better food was WAY more comfortable, and of all the hotels in Tulum they get the details correct which makes the vacation more relaxed and makes me feel like I got great value! Here is what makes Nomade special: 1. Nomade is the nicest hotel we stayed at in Tulum.
